Subject: BRA Board Meeting in
Waco on 27 April 2009
Comments from the Public
Monte Land thanked the BRA Staff for their support of HB
3031 and spoke on the hardships being created by the one year
morortorum on all new BRA leases. His comments were suported by
speakers that presented letters from several individual and others that
discussed hardship issues.
The Mike Patterson Bid was supported , as I recall by I three
individuals, and a letter from the West Side VFD.
Issues related to the Lakeview area were presented by two individuals.
Closed Door Executive Session
Following a long session (approximately 2 1/2 hours) the
Directors adopted a resolution accepting the
Mike Patterson $50M bid
for property at Possum Kingdom Lake.
Other Agenda Items
The published agenda was modified to allow Agenda item 22 to be
presented following the Executive Session. Commissioner
Edgar Laney message concerned roads and law enforcement at
Possum Kingdom. Laney detailed how the county has work with the
BRA for many years in the past by doing BRA requested road work.
The BRA furnished the materials and the county furnished the manpower
and equipment. He asked for BRA continued support in the future
to maintain the roads for the next six years so the county could phase
in the BRA roads into their budget. I jotted down a
concluding remark by Commissioner Laney concerning the roads >
Please help us to maintain the roads. Laney also commented that
there has been two meeting with the BRA on law enforcement with
apparently no consensus. He commented that the BRA had indicated
that they would get back with the county on this issue. His
final comment was to the effect > Need direction from the BRA.

HB 3031 should be amended on the House floor today, approved and
moved to the Senate.
