2007 Over 65 / Homestead  Lease Discount  Information

17 July 2007,   The BRA directors eliminated the long standing 10 percent lease discount for the over 65 / homesteaded leaseholders and dropped the concept of a freeze based on the advise of an outside counsel (Click Here) for details.

1 August 2007, The BRA request an opinion from the Office of the Texas Attorney General regarding the lease discount or freeze (Click Here) for the details.

25 January 2008,  The opinion provided by the Office of the Texas Attorney General was thought by some to allow the discount, however the BRA ruled that  the discount  was not  an acceptable option.  To view the entire document (Click Here) .
