17 July 2007,   the BRA directors adopted a divestiture resolution to sell to each leaseholder their lot leased from the BRA at Possum Kingdom (Click Here). 

29 October 2007, the BRA directors adopted a working draft policy for divestiture of Brazos River Authority-owned property at Lake Possum Kingdom (Click Here).  Prior to the adoption of the draft, Senator Kip Averitt on 16 October requested  the Texas Attorney General (AG) for an opinion (RQ0639AG) concerning the legal requirements governing how the land will be valued for purchase (Click Here) to view.   Both documents are also posted on the BRA web site (Click Here). 

5 November 2007, a letter from the AG's office provided the PKLA the opportunity to submit a brief on RQ0639AG.  A legal brief dated 12 December 2007 was prepared (14 pages) and  submitted to the Texas Attorney General (Click Here) to view the PKLA Brief.

14 December 2007, a second legal brief  was submitted to the Texas AG's office.  The submitted brief identifying letterhead was "Concerned Leaseholders of Possum Kingdom Lake".  The brief was signed by four individuals.   Your Association was asked to post the brief on the PKLA web site. 24 January 2008, the BRA's outside counsel submitted a brief to the Texas AG's office in response to certain issues raised by the briefs referenced above dated 12 and 14 December 2007 (Added Information).

17 March 2008, a legal brief in response to the 24 January 2008 BRA Response Brief referenced above was submitted to the Texas AG's office.  (Click Here)   to view this response submitted on behalf of certain lessees.

6 June 2008, OAG Response AG-0634 was issued in response to RQ-0639AG.  The response apparently agreed with the leaseholders .  Click on the Home page menu tab > Opinion AG-0634 Summary.
